Job Description
We're recruiting for an Events Center Technician 2 for the Athletics Department. The main purpose of the Events Center Technician 2 is to assist the athletic department with various duties including but not limited to setup and tear down game or event related equipment ; serve as event manager for Volleyball, Softball, Swimming & Diving and all other events as assigned; coordinate staffing needs for various setups and events; coordinate with outside vendors for any supplies; repairs or maintenance needed, submit and track all work orders to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner; coordinate labor needs and supervise labor during various projects.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to, game day setup and tear down of home athletic events on campus and at off-site venues; ensure playing surfaces are prepped and ready for play; coordinate event needs and delivery logistics; work directly with clients to communicate facilities capabilities and ensure needs are met; supervise and provide work direction to staff and labor; coordinate with outside vendors for various event items including restrooms, storage units, temporary fencing, cleaning services, tents, signage, and maintenance services.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of skilled work experience in setting and striking sets at a major events center with sophisticated sound and lighting systems.
- One year of this experience must have included coordinating the work of others in the setting and striking of sets; OR two years of experience as an Events Center Technician I; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Some positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in these positions must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
This position requires lifting and carrying up to 50 to 100 pounds occasionally.
This position may work at heights in excess of 65 feet above the ground.
Schedule
Varied work schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
