Job Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist Sr. Associate AD for External Operations and Assistant AD for Development with development of all fundraising goals, program plans and relevant budgets.
  • Execute a comprehensive annual fund solicitation strategy including, but not limited to: personal solicitations, implementation of direct mailings and emails, annual renewals, and new membership acquisitions.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 50-75 leadership annual giving prospects. Develop, document and implement engagement and solicitation strategy for each assigned prospect.
  • Provide a high level of service and communication to all internal and external constituents
  • Conduct over 100 in-person visits annually with assigned or prospective donors.
  • Manage all aspects of a portfolio including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects.
  • Assist with or prepare written proposals, informational materials, gift illustrations and other materials needed to secure multi-year pledges or major gifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service including fielding questions and by responding to complaints and/or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Lead in promoting and selling all GSA special events.
  • Plan and execute an annual spring tour event.
  • Actively build and develop a prospect pipeline of leadership annual fund donors and be able to identify major gift prospects.
  • Prospects to include friends, alumni and former athletes.
  • Provide detailed reports for seating and parking requirements and collaborate with the ticket office to assist with annual seating and parking upgrades as well as any re-seating or parking adjustments.
  • Assist with communicating, collaborating and working with the GSA Board of Directors.
  • Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, as well as at least one (1) year of related work experience; or any combination of experience and education that would provide the competencies required to successfully execute the duties assigned to this position
  • Experience in sales or fundraising
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed communication skills (including both verbal and written communications)
  • Proficiency in the use of commonly utilized office equipment and computer software
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • High level of comfort presenting to large and small groups of individuals

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience working within a collegiate athletics program
