Athletic Trainer

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• Providing medical services for 130+ student-athletes participating in a broad-based intercollegiate athletic program consisting of 12 varsity teams.
• These medical services include but are not limited to the prevention/recognition of athletic injuries, evaluation/care of athletic injuries, and rehabilitation/reconditioning of injured student-athletes.
• The Athletic Trainer will facilitate communication with the team doctor regarding healthcare of student-athletes, set up referrals and appointments, maintain proper medical records in accordance with all governing guidelines (e.g. HIPPA and University policies), and complete appropriate paperwork including, but not limited to injury reports for departmental accountability.
• The Athletic Trainer is also responsible for providing daily medical coverage of practices, home athletic competitions, and camps/clinics throughout the year.
• Other responsibilities include overseeing the management of the Fitness Center, supervising student workers, and conducting yearly inventories and ordering equipment/supplies.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer;  State Licensed Athletic Trainer; Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED/First Aid) required.
• This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
• A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
