Assistant Athletic Trainer,NCAA

Job Summary

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Primary Duties

• Preparing student-athletes for workouts, practices and competition


• Providing evaluations of, treatment for and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for collegiate student-athletes


• Athletics Training administrative duties including, but not limited to; maintaining complete medical records filing system for students to utilize in educational process, providing sufficient opportunity for appropriate student review and utilization of commonly used administrative records and forms (i.e. accident reports, treatment records, insurance forms, etc.) in accordance with HIPAA regulations


• Acting as liaison between student-athletes, coaches, administration, parents, medical personnel and other support staff in matters of health and welfare of student-athletes

Ancillary Duties

• Other duties as assigned by Director of Sports Medicine, Senior Associate Athletic Director/Internal Operations or Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology or related field


• Certification by the NATA Board of Certification


• Professional CPR/AED and First Aid Certified


• At least one year of experience as a certified athletic trainer

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in athletic training or related field


• Certified Athletic Training experience at the college level


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, coaches, administrators and staff


• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and solve complex problems


• Experience with and commitment to working with diverse student populations


• Exhibit a commitment to abide by all University, conference, NCAA and athletics training regulations
