ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
The Athletics Department at this University is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Responsibilities of this position include providing athletic training services to University athletes for all sports at practices and games, determining course of treatments for injured athletes, consulting head trainer and/or referring to team physician as needed, and maintaining athletic training equipment and supplies. This position is a full-time regular, 10 month position. Schedule will be determined by the head athletic trainer, to fit the needs of the athletes for treatments, practice, and game coverage.
SOME ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with continued development of the sports medicine program for the University.
- Provide athletic training services for the University’s Athletic Department, for all sports: men’s soccer, women’s soccer, indoor women’s volleyball, men’s cross country/track, women’s cross country and track, surf, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s golf and women’s golf, e-sports.
- Attendance at scheduled team practices; attendance at all home and some away competitions as necessary, administering emergency first aid and CPR/AED.
- Prevention and care of athletic injuries and illnesses.
- Evaluation of athletic injuries.
- Apply protective and therapeutic taping, wrapping, bandaging, bracing and other protective devices to prevent injury to student-athlete.
