Job Summary

 
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Individual will have a desire to perform in front of an audience

  • Friendly and charismatic personality, while maintaining a professional demeanor. 

  • Represent the team during community events, performing as Crash 

  • -Availability for team home games as a Fan Experience Team Member

Duties will include a role outside of the mascot suit, including:

  • Assist with game-day setup and breakdown

  • On-ice & off-ice set up of promotions

  • Execute in-game promotions & events including but not limited to; pregame and postgame promotions, media stoppages, as well as on-ice games

  • Assist in the execution of all group needs (including choir set up, youth hockey, etc.)

  • Greet and interact with fans

  • Select fans to participate in promotional games

  • Set up, operate and manage the  “Kids Zone”

  • Escort team mascot and keep detailed mascot itinerary

  • Operate Chuck-A-Puck tables, including; set up, breakdown, selling and clean-up

  • Assist with other non-game events (pregame and postgame events)

  • Ability to work (most) remaining home games and playoffs during the 2019-20 season 

  • Various events and community appearances

  • Other duties as assigned

 
Qualified Applicants should:

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and comfortable with various groups of people (specifically kids)

  • Be self-motivated, creative and able to perform in front of large crowds

  • Have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays. 

  • Be a local candidate and have reliable transportation

  • Previous experience as a mascot or performer is a plus, but not required.

 
Education:
  • Some post-secondary education is preferred
Knowledge and Experience:

  • Ability to skate a plus, but not required

  • Strong organization, planning, and implementation skills

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Fan-friendly attitude and willingness to help, comfortable working with children

  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment and dedication to a team

  • Shows initiative when not supervised

Work Conditions:

  • Available to work scheduled events and home games including evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to stand up to 5 hours at a time

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to push and pull objects up to 300 pounds

  • Ability to walk up and down stairs

  • Ability to deal with frequent change
