Job Summary
Support/Assist the Director of Athletics, PE & Wellness in the following areas:
Leadership
- Advise Director of Athletics of issues in assigned related areas.
- Monitor compliance with the Southwest Preparatory Conference, the Junior Preparatory Conference, Athletics Department and School policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate ability to work with all public entities associated with Athletics.
- Collaborate and monitor strategic planning initiatives and assessments.
- Oversee out of season practices, Facility Rentals and Outside Use of gyms and fields.
- Manage organization of department events, including but not limited to – Signing Parties, Varsity Recognition Ceremony, Department meetings, and Parent Meetings.
- Assist with personnel oversight.
- Coach 2-3 seasons as determined by Director of Athletics.
Budget/HR
- Oversee and evaluate budgets for assigned areas and recommend changes as needed.
- Manage bottom line of budgets and spending approvals.
- Authorize expenses based on School and Department guidelines.
- Advise Director of Athletics to help determine priorities with regards to major expenditures.
- Inform Business Office and Financial Aid Office of family charges associated with Athletics.
- Collect personnel information, track and inform Human Resources of changes to part time and faculty coach status and stipends.
Administrative
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn new systems as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, department staff, alumni, administrators, faculty and parents and send out community information
- Maintain documentation of all department, staff, roster, and record information.
- Manage Department calendars and work with other departments within the School to establish and maintain effective plans/support of program development, operating functions, and oversight of facilities management.
- Submit necessary information and paperwork associated with compliance to affiliated conferences.
- Prepare, update and distribute department manuals and parent handbooks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; Master's (preferred)
- Previous experience coach high school athletic teams or higher
- Previous experience in athletic administration and conference compliance
- Previous experience building and managing budgets
- Dynamic, collegial, collaborative, energetic, and engaging
- Models exceptional sportsmanship
- Successful coaching track record
- Excellence at team-building
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, colleagues and parents
- Skilled teacher of fundamentals, strategy, sportsmanship, and character
- Eager to take an active role in the larger Kinkaid community and to engage with an active parent body
- Eagerness to grow and remain current with the field
- Exemplifies four core values (honesty, responsibility, respect, and kindness) in interactions with all members of the Kinkaid community and beyond
