Their AmeriCorps coaching program is the first national service program that challenges young adults to give back to their communities through a year of service as coach-mentors. Up2Us Sports’ research, training and on-the-ground initiatives empower sports programs across the country to become a united force for meaningful change. To date, Up2Us Sports has reached over 525,000 youth by placing nearly 3,000 coaches in underserved urban communities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Up2Us Sports is seeking a Graphic Design and Social Media Manager to join our marketing team. The Graphic Design and Social Media Manager will serve as the graphic designer and digital and creative lead for Up2Us Sports and all of its departments. This person will grow and monitor the Up2Us Sports brand, ensuring it follows brand guidelines. Using social media and compelling content, the Graphic Design and Social Media Manager will work with the Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Marketing to tell the story of Up2Us Sports and the positive impact it is making through Up2Us Coach and Up2Us Training. The position is based in NYC and will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 Graphic Design

  • Design invitations for national and regional events including fundraisers, coach graduations, local trainings, and member events. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required.
  • Design reports, including annual reports, program evaluations, sponsor fulfillment reports, event recap reports, and research reports.
  • Work cross-functionally with development, marketing, training and regional teams to design outreach materials for potential strategic partnerships.
  • Design infographics to demonstrate impact and teach content.
  • Create images for social sharing that are compatible with each platform.
  • Design printed marketing materials (banners, tablecloths, posters, event signage, giveaways) for Up2Us Sports in general and specific initiatives.
  • Design, produce and track 2-3 emails per month, using AB testing and other tools to increase levels of engagement.
  • Presentation/deck design for potential partnerships, development, events, etc.
  • Provide branding orientation for new staff - where to find templates, how to format signature, where to find marketing materials.

 Content

  • Manage Up2Us Sports library of content (photos, videos, logos, templates, marketing materials).
  • Grow Up2Us Sports content library through gathering regional content. This requires working with regional staff to identify coaches/organizations, provide waivers for participants, ensure correct branding, and find/vet/manage photographers in each region.
  • Work with printers (print, gear, signage) to ensure high quality printing that follows brand guidelines, hits timelines and is within budget.
  • Work with event planners on materials for Up2Us Sports Premier Events (invitation, save the date) and provide input on the overall event design.
  • Film and edit video content of coaches working with youth for social and website.

 Social Media/Website

  • Develop and execute a social media plan that raises brand awareness, grows social media audience, and increases engagement across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Experience using Sprout Social (or equivalent) is required.
  • Develop, execute and track social media plans for strategic partnerships and events.
  • Manage Up2Us Sports website, designing new pages when necessary and updating site content regularly. Knowledge of Squarespace required and HTML/CSS is preferred.
  • Manage any applicable websites for Up2Us Sports premier events.
  • Manage the creative design elements of online fundraising campaign pages.
  • Grow Up2Us Sports blog, working with team to create calendar and new content.
  • Closely monitor regional Instagram accounts and provide support to regional staff when asked.
  • Monitor social analytics and provide reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 1-3 years of graphic design experience.
  • 1-3 years of digital marketing and social media experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated experience running successful social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of social media strategies.
  • Experience using Sprout Social (or equivalent) required.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience managing professional social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Experience with Squarespace, HTML, CSS, and email marketing platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Dropbox, and the G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Video editing capability desired.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well both independently and within a team. 

COMPENSATION

  • $35,000 - $40,000 (salary range is non-negotiable)
