Job Summary:

The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for all facets of the volleyball program which include but are not limited to: recruiting, fund-raising, coaching, preseason conditioning, budget formulation, analysis and management, equipment purchases, public and community relations, parental relations, and health and safety. Directs and manages staff of Assistant Coaches. The Head Coach, Women's Volleyball reports to an Associate Athletic Director, who serves as Sport Administrator.

This position requires the willingness and ability to work a non-traditional schedule including early morning, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Northeast Conference and the NCAA.

Required Qualifications:

1. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor’s or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

2. Five-plus years of volleyball coaching experience at the intercollegiate level, preferably Division I.

3. Valid driver’s license.

4. Communicates effectively in one-to-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts; writes precise, well-organized emails, letters and proposals while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.

5. Plans, organizes and schedules in an efficient, productive manner; anticipates contingencies and demonstrates flexibility. Excellent organizational skills and pays attention to detail.

6. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university's Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.

7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
