Job Summary

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Support measures to protect the intellectual property;
• Perform research and write memos on legal matters;
• Assist with National Governing Body and athlete issues involving commercial rights matters;
• Assist  lawyers with trademark enforcement and with Anti-Ambush initiatives during the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games; and
• Assist lawyers in carrying out the duties and functions of the Legal Department, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctorate degree program, with an expected graduation date in Winter 2020 or later.
• Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic & Paralympic Movement
• Eligible to work in the USA
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Superior writing skills
• Course work should demonstrate an interest in trademarks and IP issues. Other preferred course work includes non-profit, corporate governance, dispute resolution, mediation, negotiation, contracts, and sports law related classes.
