Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Serves as game manager for various sports that could include: Men and Women Soccer, Volleyball, Men and Women Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Beach Volleyball, and Tennis.
- Assists with game management of football.
- Assists with game/event management for all sports programs and will serve as point of contact for visiting teams, officials, security, promotions, spirit groups, ticket operations, and the band.
- Works closely with the Director of Sponsorships to ensure the fulfillment of all contracts- including arena and stadium signage, public address announcements, in-game promotions, product sampling, logo recognition, website placement, and all other contract components.
- Supervises and trains temporary staff for event management.
- Communicates with various event entities to insure knowledge of upcoming athletic events and anticipated attendance such as police, security, parking, concessions and department staff.
- Works closely with the Departmental and University Facilities Management groups to maintain and prepare facilities for use on game day. Assists with the Event Management System (EMS) with staffing for events to include facilities, police and parking.
- Creates and distributes credentials for athletic events.
- Schedules game day PA announcer and auxiliary event staff.
- Maintains confidentiality for the department. Treats with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity any matter pertaining to medical, academic, and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department.
- Adheres to all State, University, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Game Management and Operations Coordinator. Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years of experience or a Master's degree in an appropriate specialization.
