 Job Summary:
  • The primary role of the Senior Manager of the NHL Team Foundation is to help grow fundraising and awareness of the NHL Team Foundation, through strategic programming, sponsorships, and events. Also, to help develop programs and events that help to raise awareness of the NHL Team Brand and relevancy in the community.


Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for the overall success of the NHL Team Foundation including annual fundraising goals, grant distribution process and community engagement

  • Oversee Foundation staff

  • Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan including innovative strategies to generate new revenue sources for the NHL Team Foundation 

  • Cultivate relationships with key individuals and organizations to expand donor base.

  • Develop and execute high-quality year-round plans and programs to maximize the NHL Team Foundation profile, its brand value and relevancy within the community.

  • Ensure that yearly, quarterly and monthly action plans are executed in order to deliver on development goals.

  • Develop and execute high-quality year-round plans and programs to maximize the NHL Team Foundation profile, its brand value and relevancy within the community.

  • Help establish and ensure that yearly, quarterly and monthly development and communications action plans are executed in order to deliver on development goals.

  • Manage the department objectives/programs with oversight by the Senior Director, closely monitoring and reporting to the Senior Director on outcomes for revenue and expense goals on an ongoing basis.

  • Collaborate with Panthers Marketing, Community Relations, Public Relations and Communication departments to develop and manage communications plan including a mix of communications strategies and tactics, including direct appeals, newsletters and collateral.

  • Ensure consistent brand identity, optimizing the profile and image of the NHL Team Foundation 

  • Oversee fundraising activities, including planning, communications, sales/marketing, and logistics, for major fundraising events and initiatives, including Cats & Cocktails, Ice and Dice Casino Night and Pucks & Pints Beerfest, and in-game auctions. 

  • In conjunction with the Senior Director, establish annual events calendar, creating event timelines and action plans for each event for both staff and volunteers; co-ordinate with all outside vendors for events.

  • Work closely with Senior Director, to co-ordinate and implement the sponsorship and sales/marketing strategy for each event.

  • All other duties as assigned.

 
 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, marketing, board governance, fiscal management.

  • Experience leading and managing others

  • Prior experience securing partnerships and donation Prior experience with event planning and execution

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational and strategic skills, strong communication skills (verbal and written), strong analytical skills, strong presentation and influencing skills and the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders as well as board members and management.

  • A proven ability to set priorities, bring projects to completion, and meet multiple deadlines with a high degree of autonomy. Innovative thinker with successes in implementing new ideas.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in all circumstances.

  • Ability to travel to events in South Florida area and work weekends, evenings, game nights as needed.

 
Work Environment:
  • This position works in an arena where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, temperatures are variable – often cold; lights are bright or dark with occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics. 



 
Physical Demands:
 
  • Walking – Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. 
  •  
  • Standing – Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  •  
  • Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position (up to 50 pounds) or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  •  
  • Balancing – Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
  •  
  • Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.



 
 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a Full-Time position. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
