Job Summary

Seeking a creative and qualified individual to support the communications and digital initiatives associated with the NCAA Division I programs. Applicants must have a strong understanding of athletic communications and social media trends. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while staying organized and maintaining high standards for all work performed. Candidates must be a self-starter and be able to work together as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

•Communications duties for selected sports, including Wrestling.

•Writing weekly press releases, compiling team statistics and records, and reporting to the Patriot League is also required.

•Aiding with the daily maintenance of Army West Point’s website, and assisting with all social media efforts.

•Game day support for football, men’s and women’s basketball, hockey, volleyball, men’s and women’s lacrosse and select other sports.

•Find compelling stories about cadet-athletes and pitch them to local, regional and national outlets.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a collegiate sports communications office.
  • Broad-based knowledge of Division I athletics and NCAA regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats and StatCrew statistical package is expected.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with a team, but also take on tasks individually.
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a communications, sports management or journalism field.
  • Strong use of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some holiday, weekend, and evening hours.
