Senior Director of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation

Job Summary

The Senior Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (APER) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of development of a diverse set of athletics, physical education and recreation programs encouraging a lifelong commitment to health and fitness enabling a culture of a healthy campus. 

Leadership and Management

• Leads the development, planning, execution and promotion of a strong intramural, intercollegiate, tournament and summer camp athletics program
• Develops and offers a variety of co-curricular physical education programs for undergraduate students to encourage them to incorporate health and fitness into their lives
• Develops, maintains, and promotes recreational programs to all members of the University community and external stakeholders
• Develops strategic goals and objectives as well as annual operating objectives ensuring that resources and the annual budget are optimally configured and deployed to achieve the best results in collaboration with the Associate Vice President

Experience:

• Senior management experience: Demonstrated success in building and managing collaborative teams; the ability to work collaboratively with others in a shared governance environment; 10 years of management experiences
• Experience in working with students and young people; experience in athletics administration preferably in a university setting
