Job Summary

  Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Monitor the effectiveness and refinement of disciplinary policy and procedures (through teacher and administrative feedback).
  • Offer training and support to faculty in the areas of discipline, classroom management, and student/teacher interventions.
  • Work closely with the school counselor to provide support for the student population.
  • Monitor the faculty enforcement of policies and procedures and the performance of assigned duties.
  • Monitor student behavior, meet with faculty about student behavior, and communicate with parents regularly concerning student behavior.
  • Assist faculty and parents in developing student behavioral expectations
  • Assist in developing programs and intervention strategies that promote positive student behavior.
  • Coordinate the athletic program and initiate the recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation of all coaches.  
  • Schedule all Upper School athletic events and maintain the proper and necessary records.
  • Supervise all home athletic events and act as the host to officials and visiting schools.
  • Oversee the athletic budget, ensure officials and athletic trainers are scheduled and paid following each event and prepare and administer a detailed operating budget for the athletic program to the Upper School heads.

  Qualifications: 

  Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in student affairs, counseling, higher education, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in working as a member of a school leadership team, community-based organization, or related field.
  • Effective interpersonal skills in managing and interacting with diverse groups.
  • Solid presentation & public speaking skills.
  • Effective time management and executive function skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  • Possessing an ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Demonstrative ability to effectively manage conflict through quality decision-making and effective problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle intense or controversial situations with grace, discretion, and diplomacy.

  Preferred:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, education, social work or closely related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in scheduling, developing, planning, and implementing student-centric activities and events.
  • Experience as an advisor for student clubs and organizations.
  • Experience planning large events.
  • Experience in developing leadership programs.
  • Experience with budget management.
