Coordinator of Museum Experience

Job Summary

• Assist in creation, preparation and execution of all education and public programs 


• Serve as event lead for select events and be responsible for gathering all event details, preparing event notes, ensuring adequate staffing, execution of event and follow up 


• Research potential artists and special guests to engage in education and public programs 


• Coordinate scheduling and collateral materials with artists, guest speakers and instructors for programs 


• Liaise with creative, marketing and public relations departments to ensure execution of all initiatives   
• Assist with monthly newsletter, social media and email campaigns to promote  and its programs on various platforms


• Manage receipt, delivery, payment status of invoices and expenses in a timely manner


• Assist with the organization, maintenance, and inventory of all merchandise in Gift Store 


• Other duties as assigned by management
  
   

• At least one year of event management experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably live music events or educational workshops and programs  


• Must be energetic, articulate and self-assured, and possess strong interpersonal skills


• Must have excellent analytical skill and judgment


• Must have strong proficiency in computer technology and software


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential


• Must be detail oriented, with strong organizational and prioritizing skills in order to manage a continuous workflow of a high volume, multi-tasking environment


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with a dynamic range of people


• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and be open to “thinking outside the box”


• Must be a self-starter with an ability to take initiative


• Must possess stellar communication skills both written and orally, with the ability to communicate complex information to colleagues, clients, etc.


• Must be a reliable and flexible team player with a friendly and professional attitude


• Knowledge of the music industry and local music scene a plus 


• Knowledge of and/or experience in a K-12 learning environment a plus 


• Previous experience with audio/video equipment and live music performances preferred


• Previous experience with social media marketing preferred 


• Previous experience with talent booking preferred 

• BA/BS or equivalent is preferred

• May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.       


• Physical Demands   This position requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
