Job Summary



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Head Coach for Football.


Player Evaluation

  • Ensure compliance with NJCAA rules on eligibility and recruitment.
  • Direct the creation and execution of the twelve-month vision of Recruiting Calendar (Mail, video, graphics, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
  • Coordinate all recruiting operational and logistical efforts including, but not limited to, arranging recruitment visits for coaches, booking hotel rooms, scheduling flights, reserving automobiles, identifying players or positions to evaluate, and completion of all required travel forms.
  • Serve as a liaison between all departments on recruiting matters (compliance, student services, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, travel, business, facilities, housing, parking, tickets, etc.)
  • Coordinate securing, evaluating and filing of transcripts for all student athletes in collaboration with appropriate college staff.
  • Coordinate completion and submission of required paperwork and expense reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between all departments on recruiting matters.


Player Support

  • Serve as liaison between the College departments, partnering with academic advisors to ensure satisfactory academic performance and classroom attendance, and assisting student-athletes with student services, strength and conditioning, housing, and parking.
  • Develop and implement programming to assist students with the transition to the College.
  • Lead efforts to identify partners to create personal growth and development programs for student-athletes.


Managing Coaches and Staff

  • Supervise head coaches for each sport, including collaboratively developing objectives with direct reports and managing mutually agreed-upon objectives.
  • May serve as head coach for various athletics teams.


Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Coaching experience in Football Program
  • Bachelor's degree required; a degree in business, public relations or sports management preferred. An advanced degree will be considered a plus.
  • Experience with personnel management, legal compliance, human resources, or sports management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and work effectively with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and solutions-focused approach to challenges and improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize good judgment in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to exercise discretion in confidential matters is essential.
  • Must possess a strong sense of initiative and independent judgment, and a willingness to be flexible in managing changing priorities. Must have a service-oriented attitude, and effectively manage multiple projects and changing deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills required including a good command of Microsoft Office application software.
  • Experience making complex, multi-city travel arrangements Ability to work well both independently and in collaboration with staff as a team member.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to establish positive public relations and to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
  • The ability to write reports and recommendations.
