Job Summary

 

This position facilitates the efficient operation of the Office of Booking & Events by supporting the event needs of internal and external clients through the management of events, preparation and maintenance of contracts, data and schedules. Once an event is booked and confirmed the Event Manager will take responsibility for all aspects of the event except settlement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advancing the show with the artist or promoter representative – This process requires the Event Manager to contact the representative in advance of the show date and obtain the Technical Rider, The Security Rider, Rigging Information and other details of the event.
  • The Event Manager will communicate with staff regarding the needs of the event in terms of any special staffing, security needs, early arrivals of trucks, overflow truck and bus parking arrangements, catering information, VIP Party information, early entry situations, the event timeline and any other items pertinent to the proper and successful operation of the event.
  • Produce and distribute comprehensive Event Notes at least one week prior to the event.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry or combination of education and experience.
  • Management experience, preferred, or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
  • Possess skills and experience in budget preparation, labor relations, purchasing procedures and supervising/training personnel.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Considerable knowledge of safety regulations and other federal, state or local laws and regulations.
  • Strong orientation towards hospitality/customer service for sports and entertainment industry.
