Associate Director of Athletics, Health and Wellness

Job Summary

This work will lead to the following 4 categories of responsibilities (as well as others determined in year one by the Director of Athletics and the Director of Student Support Services):

  1. Lead B-12 Health and Physical Education programming and courses. 
  2. Collaborate with the school counselors, nurses, grade deans and other community members to coordinate and support the B-12 programming for Affective Education curriculum and experiences. 
  3. Collaborate with several members of the community to enhance wellness programming and to integrate it into all areas of student life as well as into the curriculum.  
  4. Organize and lead collaborative teams of professionals focused on a vision for a healthy approach to wellness, mindfulness, nutrition, social-emotional learning, and other focus areas.  

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree, and a MS degree in a related field is preferred.
  • The successful candidate will have strong multi-tasking and self-starter skills.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working independently and willing to establish connections with a range of school constituents.

Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate solid competencies, including:

  • Experience working in an educational setting;
  • Previous experience leading projects, programs or initiatives related to health and wellness programing;
  • A global mindset and is appreciative of diversity and dedicated to the goal of creating and maintaining an authentic, inclusive community;
  • Ability to teach programming in the athletics or support services departments;
  • Strong collaboration and team leadership skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and develop community relationships;
  • High standards of professional conduct; and
  • A good sense of humor.
