Associate Athletic Director, Fan Experience and Brand Development

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Athletics – Fan Experience & Brand Development supports an inclusive culture while focusing on building strong, positive relationships and organizational structure that will support the University’s Athletics strategic goals and initiatives, including providing the best fan experience in North Carolina.

Duties:

  • Identifies opportunities and activates promotions for national, regional and local groups (e.g. youth soccer league, youth football leagues, county school band organizations, faith groups, civil service organizations etc.) to participate in game day activities associated with athletic events and collaborates with sales team to enhance season, single and group ticket sales.
  • Position also works closely with student and University organizations.
  • Creates and implements effective brand strategy that leverages the brand throughout all athletics sponsors by managing corporate media rights holder relationship and collaborating with third party licensing partners and University Community and External Relations (CER) team. Provides direction and guidance to licensing partners that results in increased revenue from sponsors and expands the brand presence with all sponsors.
  • Collaborates with ACC Network Production team that supports Fan Experience team and identifies and implements initiatives that leverage the network to improve awareness of the brand and promote the athletic programs and student-athletes.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a total of 5 years progressively increasing responsibility experience in athletics marketing, fan experience, brand management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Superior demonstrated knowledge of marketing and brand strategies, processes and resources.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and how to use analytics to drive fan experience and effective brand strategy.
  • Knowledge and awareness of NCAA compliance regulations, guidelines and legislative process.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
