Assistant Athletics Director

Job Summary

Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

• Facility and staff management
• Scheduling indoor and outdoor athletics and sports facilities
• Working with internal and external constituents
• Oversite of the game day operations for all varsity programs and assist in the planning and development of athletics and sports facilities projects.
• The Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Events is expected to work in collaboration with all users of the facilities including, but not limited to, Athletics, Exercise and Sports Science, Recreational Sports Department, other campus users and external groups.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Professional events and facility management experience.
• Knowledge or experience of collegiate athletics.
• Detail-orientated with strong organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Sport Management, Sport Administration or Business Management.
• Professional events and facility management experience within an athletic or recreation setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including students, faculty, staff and community members.
• Experience managing operational budgets of facilities.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with event management software.
• Understanding of APPA facility guidelines and best practices for building scheduling and utilization.
