Job Summary
Essential Functions:
- Coach student-athletes by assessing and developing their skills
- Recruit student-athletes who will succeed at the College and provide leadership to support successful academic and athletic excellence
- Ensure academic performance and personal development of student-athletes
- Collaborate with the Office of Admission & the Head Coach to help meet recruitment and retention goals set by the College
- Support retention of athletes in College
- Collaborate with Early Intervention group as needed
- Make travel arrangements for the team
- Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the field toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community
- Attend regular athletic and admission staff meetings
- Help manage, as needed, online recruiting database (Front Rush)
- Help plan practices for both in-season and non-traditional season, to include writing practice plans
- Clean, organize, and order essential equipment or supplies
- Assist with game day administrative duties
- Assume additional administrative responsibilities within Athletics Department, as assigned by the Director of Athletics Assist in organizing alumni games and other special events, including fundraising events in collaboration with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations
- Assist the head strength & conditioning coach with the operation and supervision of out of season strength & conditioning activities (if certified in strength & conditioning)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, required
- Intercultural competency; ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability, required
- Volleyball coaching experience at the NCAA level, Division III, preferred
- Recruiting experience at the collegiate level, Division III, preferred
- First Aid and AED certification, preferred
- Strength and conditioning certification, preferred
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some evenings
- Passion and motivation to recruit student-athletes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Possess an outcomes-oriented approach to coaching
