Job Summary
Essential Functions:
- Sell Football, Men's and Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Volleyball Season Tickets, Partial Plans, Group Tickets, and other Ticket products
- Call current and past customers and cold-call new sales leads to generate sales
- Contact area businesses and individuals via phone, in-person appointments and networking events to sell season tickets, partial plans and group ticket plans
- Work home games, performing various ticket sales and service duties throughout the game
- Build relationships to provide repeat business and excellent customer service
- Achieve and exceed weekly, monthly and annual sales goals established by management
- Act proactively to create opportunities for new business with existing customers
- And provide superior customer service to clients throughout the season.
- Work closely with the Club to assist with donor relations and fund development
- NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations.
- Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately.
- Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Athletics Ticket Sales.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and sales experience, to include computerized ticketing systems experience OR High school diploma/equivalent and six years’ sales experience to include computerized ticketing systems experience.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion with regard to interpersonal relationships.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive information.
- Must have truly outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must possess good decision-making skills, solid judgment and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Must have an interest and ability in serving others as one of the primary functions of their job.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, coaches, administrators, student athletes and coworkers.
- Strong organizational, management and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and social media.
- Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
- Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics
- Ticket sales training courses within the last five years
