Job Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and implement programs which focus on personal, career and social growth for the student-athlete population.
  • Develop a comprehensive Leadership Academy for student-athletes.
  • Collaborate and partner with Student-Athlete Success Program staff regarding ongoing programs to enhance the overall development of our student-athletes.
  • Work closely with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on initiatives to support the Division’s commitment to enhancing the overall experience and creating opportunities for student-athletes.
  • Direct and oversee all of the Division’s community service (outreach) programs, including, but not limited to: coordination and event planning, outreach promotion and publicity, and tracking and management of the team Cup and associated events.
  • Oversee financial management of OSAD, including current and future grant commitments.
  • Participate in the planning, writing, development and implementation of current and potential future grant proposals.
  • Provide various reports for internal and external partners.
  • Serve as a liaison with organizations that support funding of the Division’s outreach programs, including providing regular reports on outreach activities at various schools.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the University Conference and NCAA.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a collegiate athletic work environment in student development or leadership development programming or comparable athletics student-athlete support experience.
  • Experience coordinating event activities and collaborating with various internal and external constituents.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication and public relations skills.
  • Strong presentation skills; effective in a variety of settings (one-on-one, small group, large group).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge of basic computer systems such as Google Mail, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the University, Conference and NCAA.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in program development and program assessment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, fast paced, student-athlete service-driven environment in a collegiate setting.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with student-athletes with regard to career and leadership development.
  • Grant writing experience.
  • Experience working with youth and facilitation.
