Intern for Community Relations

Job Summary

• Intern will work 30-hour weeks, and will be required to work frequent weekends, all  games, occasional evenings, and must be able to work all days of the week


• Execute community activations in relation to match day, as well as supporting all match day press-box and media operations. These duties might include monitoring and facilitating credential application requests, printing, press-box set up, media locker-room availability, and post-match quote transcription


• Assist with weekly distribution of advisories to media


• Respond to community requests via phone, e-mail, and mail


• Intern will assist PR and CR staff with drafting and editing articles, tweets, photo blogs, videos, and other media and social media outreach efforts


• Maintain the database of community appearances, donations, autographed items, and inventory


• Use media monitoring services to assess the quantitative impact of PR/CR on business and sales growth by creating comprehensive weekly reports using TV and digital news clips


• Manage donation request fulfillment


• Assist with planning and executing PR/CR special events

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree or recent graduate preferred


• Involvement in campus leadership activities, college sports, club sports preferred


• Strong oral and written communication skills and cultural competency, including the ability to interact comfortable with people in all walks of life is necessary

• Punctuality and accountability is essential for all aspects of intern role


• Excellent organization skills are required


• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred


• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and potential holidays, along with the ability to work the 2020 season (March – November)
