Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse

Job Summary

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include overseeing and operating a Division I Women’s Lacrosse program in alignment with our departmental strategic priorities:

• Academic Achievement: 
  • Monitor and support the academic success of student-athletes. 
• Improve the Student-Athlete Experience: 
  • Create a culture of well-being and thriving for our student-athletes; 
  • Know, understand and abide by all University, Atlantic 10 and NCAA rules and regulations;
  • Understand and abide by the rules of confidentiality (FERPA/Buckley Amendment); 
  • Understand and abide by proper procedures in dealing with student-athletes and staff;
  • Ensure student-athletes abide by all the University, Atlantic 10 and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Athletic Excellence: 
  • Recruit quality and committed student-athletes; 
  • Organize and train athletes for competition; 
  • Plan comprehensive pre and post-season conditioning programs. 
• Campus & Community Outreach: 
  • Engage in campus and community projects to engage and increase fans and supporters of the program;
  • Create a vibrant connection to the local lacrosse community through outreach programs.
• Infrastructure Improvement: 
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate personnel; 
  • Carry out and seek improvements in other relative administrative duties. 
• Stewardship: 
  • Undertake fundraising, public relations and promotional activities suitable to the position in connection with the appropriate external affairs department;
  • Prepare and manage budgets and records.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree;
• 5 Years or more of demonstrated, successful experience as a head coach or assistant coach at the collegiate, elite level club or professional level in the sport of women’s lacrosse.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience recruiting in the Mid-Atlantic region; 
• Demonstrated lacrosse participation as a student-athlete at an elite level.
