Job Summary

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Updating rosters, creating game day programs, conducting pre and post-game interviews
  • Writing and distributing press releases internally and with local media members
  • Updating rosters and statistics, actively managing event-day Sports Information staff
  • Producing live web streaming and performing play-by-play broadcasts as needed, maintaining and operating StatCrew, PrestoSports and Dakstats statistical software, setting up live statistics for every home contest, creating and disseminating pregame and postgame informational graphics, managing coach and athlete bio information, nominate coaches and student-athletes for preseason and postseason awards, serve as liaison to conference office.
  • Produce, edit, design and maintain weekly communications with the College Community and external community to inform of upcoming events and contests
  • Actively participate in planning, development and implementation of short and long-range
  • Athletics marketing and corporate relations strategies, working closely with the staff and AD.
  • Manage and supervise Sports Information Coordinator; student employees and interns; and employees responsible for game-day operations including, statisticians, broadcasters, photographers, and public address announcers.
  • Write feature stories to be used on the website and in the Magazine.
  • Process all local media interview requests and inform media of all major happenings, upcoming events and points of interest.
  • Responsible for updating record books and student-athlete and coaches bios in a timely manner for assigned sports.
  • Responsible for maintaining statistical archives for assigned sports.
  • Work closely with Game Operations contact to properly staff and manage all home contests Develop and coordinate the execution of strategic marketing plans for all sports with an emphasis on increasing attendance and enhancing in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience.
  • Assume overall responsibility for all in-game marketing and promotions for home athletic events, including but not limited to: the production of timeline and PA scripts, operation and production of LED scorers tables, organization of in-venue music and activation of sponsorships Conceptualize and create/outsource all print and digital marketing collateral for the department
  • Oversight of varsity sport social media platforms. Assist in coordinating all special events
  • Other duties as assigned by Athletic Department Administration

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (preferably in sports marketing, media relations, marketing or journalism)
  • At least 4 years of experience working in an intercollegiate athletic department
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • A basic knowledge of current NAIA rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in industry-standard statistical platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of marketing, promotions and social media best practices
  • Professional and enthusiastic attitude
  • Passion for intercollegiate athletics
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
