Job Summary



JOB SUMMARY:


The Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the men’s and women’s soccer programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment, development, and retention of student-athletes; budget management; scheduling; fundraising; academic monitoring; and supervision and evaluation of student-athletes and assistant coaches. 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Supervise and provide instruction and direction at all men’s and women’s soccer practices and competitions.

  • Recruit and maintain specific roster sizes for the men’s and women’s soccer program.

  • Collaborate with the Offices of Admissions and Student Services for recruiting and enrolling prospective student-athletes.

  • Manage administrative operations of the programs i.e. scheduling and team travel.

  • Monitor, assist, and nurture student-athletes’ academic progress toward graduation at the college and assist with placement at four-year colleges and universities.

  • Assist the Athletic Administration in marketing and promotion of the men’s and women’s soccer program.

  • Promote positive public relations for the men’s and women’s soccer program.

  • Provide first aid in emergency situations and complete required blood borne pathogen training and CPR/AED certification.

  • Perform set-up, tear-down, and storage of equipment.

  • Enforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures.

  • General professional staff responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Experience coaching mens’ and/or women’s soccer at the Collegiate level.

  • Minimum of one year recruiting student-athletes at the Collegiate level.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of general admissions processes and procedures practiced by post-secondary education institutions

  • Experience providing leadership for both players and coaches.

  • Expected to cultivate and promote a positive student-athlete experience.

  • Strong commitment to high ethical standards and integrity.

  • Must possess a current driver’s license valid in the State of Iowa and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations, faculty, staff, and students.

  • Flexible hours to include: evening and weekend hours.

  • Needs of the department vary, the percent of time devoted to each part of the job will be governed by seasonal and immediate needs of the department.
