Assistant Track Throws Coach

Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities shall be, but not limited to, the following:

1) Assist in the operation of an NJCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track and Field program consistent with the policies and mission.

2) Assist Head Track/Field Coach in all aspects of coaching and administration of the program with an emphasis on recruiting prospective student-athletes and coaching in assigned areas;

3) Assist Head Track/Field Coach to: Orientate each athlete as to grade requirements and expectations; Recruit athletes; Monitor and encourage athletes to attend class and fulfill degree requirements; Supervise Study Hall; Arrange for tutors in Learning Lab; Periodic grade checks; Assist in dorm supervision and dining hall when needed providing there is no conflict with athletic activities; Assist in facility upkeep and management as it pertains to day to day operation of track/field;

4) Assist in any other duties deemed necessary by the Director of Athletics or the Head Track/Field Coach;

5) Actively participate in the institutional goals and objectives designed to support the mission of the college; and,

6) Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of the College.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3-years coaching experience (any level) as a track/field coach.
3. College coaching experience in throws is preferred .
4. Sound background and knowledge of track/field coaching.
5. Must be committed to excellence in instruction/coaching and willing to work.
