Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Manage key relationships with CFO and department heads to ensure Procurement is involved in planning, strategy development and implementation of purchases and contractual needs.
- Negotiate commercial and contract terms for various key areas with input from and consideration for specific department needs.
- Manage supplier/vendor development and determine long-term strategy roadmap.
- Prepares and approves all specifications for purchases, contracts, and analysis for departments.
- In collaboration CFO and Finance Director, develops, writes and updates policies and procedures recommending improvements as necessary and/or required by regulation changes from the Federal Government, State, NCAA or best practices.
- Provides efficient and effective purchasing, contracting, and credit card operations.
- Develops and implements cost-saving measures, identifying waste and recommending improvements that consider procurement requirements as well as department needs and industry standards.
- Direct the preparation and review of all procurement and contractual documents including vendor selection, with Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable selection and department/industry requirements in mind.
- Serves as a resource for questions regarding contract and purchase requisition evaluation.
- Monitors executed contracts for compliance with terms and conditions, to be done in support of project or event manager who is ultimately responsible for contract execution.
- May supervise or train additional personnel.
- Primary administrator for the Contract Insight Contract Management System.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in business administration, management, finance or related areas.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree preferred.
- 3 to 5+ years of proven procurement, supervising and leadership experience.
- Experience with not-for-profit, college athletics and/or Federal grant procurement preferred.
- Must have expertise with Word, Excel and contract management software.
- Experience with Contract Insight a plus.
- Must possess strong orientation to technology, vendor assessment and strategic sourcing.
- Must have demonstrated ability to drive organizational change through effective communication, strong leadership and sound influencing.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment consisting of a mix of employees, contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple Procurements at once in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong initiative, follow-up and mentality of collaborative teamwork coupled with strong personal accountability.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check.
