Job Summary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance and building of a sport program that is competitive at the conference level; student-athlete recruitment and academic retention;
- General advising, mentoring and support
- Effective coaching through content knowledge, practice construction and execution, and the affective dimension
- Effective teaching and advising: instruct student athletes in how to perform in their sport and at the college level
- Instruct student athletes in physical health (strength, conditioning & skill training); and instruct individual/team concepts, and safety. At all times, implement appropriate risk management strategies
- Demonstrate concern for the overall welfare of student athletes
- And represent the University in a professional and ethical manner.
- Execute all of these responsibilities as first assistant coach in a manner that reflects an ongoing commitment to the excellence, integrity and success of the men’s football program
- The Athletics Department and the University.
Job requirements include but are not limited to:
- Ability to recruit, inspire, mentor, coach and teach student-athletes
- Desire to teach and work with a diverse student population
- Strong identification with and support of the mission, vision and campus priorities; ability to adhere to policies, rules and regulations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Effective communications skills
- Ability to represent the department and college in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner
- And integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required as well as demonstrated experience coaching at the college level on the offensive side of the ball.
- Preference will be given to applicants with 3 years of collegiate experience coaching the offensive line.
