Job Summary

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

       
  • Assists head coach with physical conditioning and sports-specific fundamentals   
  • Participates and is involved in Athletic Department Fundraising   
  • Scouts opponents and prospective student athletes   
  • Builds relationships with the local high school programs to foster an environment that encourages local athletes to eventually enroll at the Community College   
  • Works with athletes, faculty and Athletic Director and Advisor, tracking academic progress of athletes   
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of practices   
  • Assists with recording individual, team, and season statistics and records; may report team scores to the NWAC office and to local news media   
  • Attends coaches' meetings   
  • Promotes and articulates the athletic program to student body, faculty, booster groups, and the community and implementing new ideas or policies that will strengthen the program   
  • Maintains current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR   
  • Transport student athletes to and from off-campus activities   
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Two years of experience/knowledge of the sport you are interested in coaching


Core Competencies:   

  • Knowledge of the NWAC Code   
  • Soccer coaching experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills   
  • Experience driving vans
