Athletics | Athletics Intern | Part Time

Job Summary

The Athletics Intern is directly responsible for supporting the activities of all individual sports programs. This is a stipend-eligible position beginning August 17, 2020 and continuing through June 1, 2021. On campus schedule will be after 3:00 p.m. until daily athletics events end with some weekend work required.

Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Support the assistant director when hosting events. This includes, but is not limited to, set-up and tear-down; work at the scorer’s table; event supervision;
2. Be the gym manager for all home, indoor events (volleyball, basketball, wrestling);
3. Catalog and manage communications about captains;
4. Supervise Middle School practices during the week;
5. Provide data input support for the Middle School programs;
6. Support the assistant directors with the production and editing of the media guide and game programs;
7. Support of parent/guardian association projects; and
8. Other duties as assigned by the director of athletics and the assistant directors of athletics.

Requirements and Qualifications  

1. Experience working in an athletics department or for a professional team;
2. Strong writing skills;
3. Experience with social media and website work to promote individuals and teams;
4. Experience with Photoshop or similar software; 
5. Demonstration of cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the culture lenses they bring to interactions.  
6. An understanding of different perspectives, the ability to interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks. 
7. Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check and a Washington State Patrol background check.
