Assistant Coach, Track and Field

Job Summary

Job Posting Description:

• Reporting to the Head Track and Field Coach and Director of Athletics, the Assistant Track and Field Coach (Throws) will help the Head Coach with organization of practices, player recruitment, team travel, fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as needed.
• As part of University Intercollegiate Athletics, the Assistant Coach must subscribe to the Principles Governing Athletics and comply with all University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations and continually demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.
• Additionally, the selected candidate will work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel and support the goals and objectives of the athletics program.
• Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics based on the program's needs.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Evidence of sound organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public.
• Four years of collegiate throws/track participation experience.
• Two years of throws coaching experience.
• Familiarity with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree.
• NCAA Division I coaching experience.
• USATF or USTFCCA certification.
• Recruiting experience.
