Job Summary


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as point person to direct provision of Mental Health Services for Team USA athletes. Lead a cross-functional team of staff to determine and deliver the appropriate services based on each athlete’s situation.
  • Provide crisis intervention, mental health assessment, and referral services to Team USA athletes.
  • Stay up to date on current trends in the mental health space.
  • Provide a high level of service and communication at all times to all entities.
  • Participate on a multi-disciplinary team with Sports Medicine and Sport Psychology staff and external medical and mental health experts in the management of athlete mental health needs (e.g., significant mental health issues, eating disorders, substance abuse issues, etc.).
  • Lead the development and implementation of athlete mental health policies and procedures including mental health emergency action plans. Train Games staff on the mental health policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA-compliant documentation and recordkeeping including recording and entering all patient athlete medical interactions and related data in the electronic medical records in a complete and timely manner.
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics and credentialing requirements of the Professional State Licensing Board in field of practice.
  • Provide for patient management in accordance with licensure, scope of practice, standards of care, and functions of individual professional licensure permitted by State law. Maintain continuous compliance with medical and legal requirements for the states of employment as well as any other states in which the individual provides or supports the USOPC or NGB at sporting events or assigned activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required

Education:

  • Ph.D, Psy.D in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Master’s degree in a psychology or counseling related field

Licensure & Certification:

  • State Licensure as a Mental Health Provider
  • AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) Certification preferred
  • Board Certifications per specialty, if applicable
  • Current CPR certification


Experience:

  • 7+ years of clinical experience in specialty field and sport
  • Electronic Medical Record experience
  • Current training in SafeSport
  • Completion of USADA Antidoping training


Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer programs
  • Continuously comply with local, state, and federal health and safety standards, rules, and regulations
