Video Technician

Job Summary

The Job:

• The Video tech will operate remote control units (RCUs) to ensure the proper on-air look of cameras and monitors.
• This position typically works with technical and lighting crew to set the overall visual look of the production as instructed by the director.

The Daily:

• Work closely with technical and lighting crew to satisfy production needs for live and taped programming
• Set and maintain the overall look of cameras and monitors during the show

The Essentials:

• Five (5) years network level video setup and shading experience in live, multi-camera studio production
• Must have a full understanding of the various video signal formats and frame rates, video processing, and monitoring in a studio and remote production.
• Must demonstrate the understanding and ability to control hue, saturation, luminance, contrast, color space, color temperature, white level, and sync
• Proficient with video waveform, vector scopes and camera charting
• Thorough knowledge and experience in the operation of high definition cameras, lenses, RCU’s, and routers
• Complete knowledge of viewfinders, camera pedestals, pan heads, tally systems, and intercom systems
