Job Summary



Position Summary

The Certified Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services for assigned intercollegiate teams. This is a 10-month position.


Essential Duties:


  • Assist in the education, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries incurred by the University's intercollegiate athletes. This includes traveling to away games.

  • Create and maintain accurate records of athletic injuries and rehabilitation.

  • Maintain Athletic Trainer license in the state of Pennsylvania.

  • Maintain NATABOC certification.

  • Assist with administrative tasks required for athletic injury insurance claims.

  • Serve as a representative of the University and lead in an exemplary fashion.

  • Responsible for compliance with all appropriate rules, regulations, processes, and principles.



Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science with 3 plus years of experience as an athletic trainer.

  • Licensed in the State of Pennsylvania as an Athletic Trainer

  • NATABOC Certification

  • Valid driver's license and successful clearance of motor vehicle record check.

  • Successful background check clearances including, but not limited to, a PA Criminal Records Check, FBI Fingerprinting Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance Check.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the University.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master of Science with 2 years of experience as an athletic trainer.

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and proficiency with injury evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.

  • Prior experience with administration responsibilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills are necessary.

  • Position requires frequent travel.

  • Must be able to maneuver into positions required for assisting with player evaluation and rehabilitation.

  • Must be able to work long and flexible hours including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
