Job Summary
This position is responsible for the development, conduct and overall supervision of both the women's indoor and outdoor track programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed recruitment plan that will allow the program to be in a position of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). Inform prospects of University academic programs, talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, and email exchanges. Actively monitoring the complete recruitment process, on campus and off campus through in person contacts. Work effectively with the Director of Athletics and Office of Enrollment Services to satisfy roster size, recruitment and retention outcomes.
- Foster an atmosphere of competitive leadership in the Northern Athletic Conference through sport specific athlete development. Attend, plan, develop, and direct all team training and conditioning activities in the traditional and nontraditional segment.
- Assist with the retention of student athletes through social and academic counseling; interaction with University retention team and coaching staff. Retention of student-athletes, along with support of Student Athlete Services, by effectively coordinating and communicating attendance to all SOAR and department sponsored events.
- Create a culture of excellence throughout the student athlete experience. Develop a culture of trust through mentorship and social development. Communicate expectations, praise and corrective feedback in a clear and constructive manner. Maintain positive student athlete assessments for program from student athletes.
- Responsible for planning, development and direction of operating and fundraising budget within University and departmental procedures. Attendance at specified department fundraising events. Assist in the planning of team specific alumni events, as well as developing new opportunities through alumni networks. Work effectively with the Director of Athletics to satisfy philanthropic and revenue generation outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
Experience: Previous collegiate coaching preferred.
Specific Skills: Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations.
