Assistant Coach Women's Lacrosse

Job Summary

Overview:

This is a full-time, 11-month position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning for and managing a competitive NCAA Division III program in accordance with College, NCAA and Centennial Conference policies.
• Provide competent coaching, along with the necessary counsel and direction, which will ensure that student-athletes have the opportunity to realize their potential as athletes, students and members of the general college community.
• Create positive support for the program within the campus community and outside constituencies including alumni, parents and friends of the College.
• Work with supervisor to develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, recreation, student development, leadership and diversity and inclusion practices and skills;
• Lead and participate in Divisional and College-wide committees and initiatives;
• Recruit qualified student-athletes.
• Assist in hiring, mentoring and supervising part time assistant coaches.
• Assume a secondary assignment commensurate with abilities, interests and departmental needs.
• Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the program and the Cardinal and Grey Fund.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of coaching experience and advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Division III philosophy of athletics.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Strong planning and organizational skills essential.
• Capacity to market the sport to the various constituencies of the College.
• Ability to work with a variety of people.
• Satisfactory background check, to include criminal background and driving record check.
