Job Summary
The SA-D Coordinator will lead the units' efforts in expanding career services support, have direct oversight of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and other student programming, and produce student-facing communications.
Your responsibilities include:
- Organize, execute, and evaluate all student-athlete programming, events, and initiatives including but not limited to first year welcome and graduation events, career services, alumni support, and more
- Work alongside Asst. AD to execute on signature events including New Student-Athlete and Family Welcome, Senior Send-Off, and Final Pre-Game Meal
- Assist with mandatory NCAA, Pac-12, and California state programming including sexual violence prevention education
- Coordinate with campus partners in the execution of the Athlete Civic Engagement (ACE) program
- Develop and produce student-facing communications
- Advise students on a range of issues including, but not limited to career plans, accessibility, identity and personal challenges, community standards, intergroup communication, etc., to assist them in making appropriate choices and decisions
- Provide consulting advice to internal and external organizations; act as subject matter expert in student services, campus climate issues, and pertinent student-athlete challenges
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with intercollegiate athletics, especially NCAA rules and regulations, is strongly desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences including student-athletes, coaches, administration and University staff
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
- Relevant computer systems/technology experience including a solid understanding of social media
- Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.
