Assistant Grounds Manager

Job Summary

• This position begins in March and runs through October.
• Exact dates are flexible.
• This intern position serves as the Assistant Groundskeeper. 
• This is an advanced internship designed to equip the intern with the skills to become a Head Groundskeeper. 
• On top of the duties performed by all interns this position serves in a leadership role for the grounds department. 
• This includes scheduling and hiring game day staff, leading crews, filling in for the director of grounds when needed, assisting in the budgeting process, helping develop long and short term plans for the field, and being in charge of events.

• Candidates must have an interest in sports field maintenance. 


• Enrollment in or recent Graduation from a two or four year turf grass, agronomy, horticulture, or soil science program is preferred, but not required.


•  Turf maintenance experience in baseball required for this advanced internship. 


• Individuals must be able to: 


• Work long hours


• Work in various weather conditions


• Highly motivated, willing to learn, have a great attention to detail,  able to manage staff and a tremendous work ethic

• Monthly stipend based on experience.
