Job Summary

Position Summary

The Deputy Athletic Director oversees all external departments and all related employees. The Deputy Athletic Director coordinates and leads department-wide revenue generation efforts, while also serving as the department's Major Gift Officer (MGO). Responsibilities as the MGO include cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of gifts (in collaboration with the Division of Development and University Relations). 

Description of Job Duties

• Support the Athletic Director in development and implementation of a sustainable Division I Athletic Department model;
• Development of revenue generation strategies to meet department goals and continued growth from all revenue streams;
• Supervise and manage sports programs and respective coaching staffs as assigned by Athletic Director;
• Provide oversight of all external units, including but not limited to marketing, video production, broadcasting, ticketing, corporate partnerships (sponsorships), media relations and Cardinals Club (annual fund);
• Serve as the department's Major Gift Officer to lead all fundraising initiatives;
• Maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects and develop successful strategies in prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding these future donors;
• Assist the Athletic Director in establishing overall athletics goals, objectives, and strategies; develop and implement programs and activities to accomplish goals while improving the image of the University;
• Serve as the department liaison to the Division of Development and University Relations;
• Responsible for supporting the Athletic Director's efforts in building trust and establishing meaningful relationships with all internal and external partners
