Job Summary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, exercise science/physiology or related field required; master's degree preferred
- At least two (2) years of experience working in a college or university recreation environment with emphasis on student development programs required; three (3) years or more of experience preferred
- Personal training and group fitness instructor experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, student organizations, faculty/student committees, government agencies and community groups
- Possess and apply an entrepreneurial approach to planning and problem solving
- Knowledge and ability to effectively handle public relations
- Working knowledge of contract negotiation and preparation
Requirements
- National certification in personal training or National certification related to group exercise instructing required (ACE, ACSM, or AFFA Certification)
- Preference may be given to individuals holding both Personal Training and Group Exercise Instructor national certifications.
- Must obtain necessary CPR/AED/First Aid certifications within 6 months.
