Associate Athletic Director

Job Summary

This Academy is seeking an Associate Athletic Director to begin in July 2021. The ideal candidate has experience playing a sport at the college level, as well as proven experience coaching female varsity athletes preparing for collegiate athletics.  The school is deeply committed to a diverse faculty and student body. 

General overview of responsibilities :

• Work with Athletic Department on day-to-day operations and assist in site management for all seasons, including summer, with a particular focus on girls sports
• Work to assure gender equity in the athletics program
• Attract and retain student-athletes
• Represent the athletic department at home athletic events
• Help to develop conference and non-conference schedules for athletic competitions
• Post schedules on the website 
• Work on schedule development with coaches
• Help coordinate scheduling and maintaining of athletic facilities with the department
• Schedule officials for assigned teams
• Participate in creating written plans, policies and procedures for the department
• Head coach of 2 varsity teams (high-level coach) 
• If residential faculty, fulfill weeknight (once a week) and weekend (8) residential duties 
• Serve as a Advisor or Co-Advisor to a small group of students
• Serve on committees and task forces, as needed 
• Any other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

Required characteristics and/or skills of this position :

• Demonstrate appropriate planning and preparation for athletic events
• Establish and maintain public and employee relations
• Develop and maintain a professional atmosphere that inspires learning and fosters respect for all students
• Support departmental goals and colleagues
• Eagerness to get involved in a boarding school community

Required experience and/or education :

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Established background in sports and a knowledge of the commitment to the success of student-athletes

Preferred experience :

• Collegiate level playing experience
• Experience coaching female athletes
