Director of Athletic Communications

Job Summary

The Director of Athletic Communications works with internal and external constituents to increase brand awareness and visibility for the department of athletics & recreation, which includes varsity teams, club sports, intramurals, recreation and wellness. The position is responsible for all aspects of promotion and publicity, content development, event operations and overall strategic planning.

Essential Functions:

• Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA and conference compliance rules and regulations.
• Develop and implement strategic plan to increase brand awareness and visibility, ensuring that messages and media support the department and College's overall goals and objectives.
• Direct all communication, marketing and promotional efforts including but not limited to news releases, features, gameday operations, statistics, publications, photography, social media and creative content.
• Collaborate with campus departments and other constituents to manage licensing program for department and College.
• Responsible for gameday operations of advanced web stream and video production systems that include Newtek TriCaster, Blueframe Production Truck and Daktronics Display Studio (Show Control) software.
• Serve as member of and project manager for Hall of Fame selection committee.
• Manage the operations budget for athletic communication office.
• Serve as the department's primary media liaison and assist College Communication office as needed.
