Backend Engineer

Job Summary

This league is looking for a passionate addition to its engineering team with a knack for APIs and code. The Backend Engineer will create and/or improve server-side applications, APIs, and databases that help create powerful, functional, seamless fan experiences. The ability to build, maintain, and extend our features, APIs, and testing suite in a fast-paced environment are core capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Build and extend our backend code


• Build APIs that serve our frontend apps as well as other downstream applications


• Benchmark and improve performance


• Maintain and extend our test suite


• Refactor and improve existing code to incorporate better patterns


• Analyze existing implementations to extract business and functional requirements


• Ensure code and systems are developed with appropriate levels of quality


• Configure software and infrastructure to support deployment of implemented projects


• Document and write about your work


• Recommend improvements to our overall development and deployment practices


• Participate in pager duty rotation as directed by team lead
