Assistant General Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing a team of professionals to achieve department goals, setting and reviewing targets, coaching employees, training employees, recruiting clients and employees, as well as actively seeking new business relationships, and maintaining and expanding existing relationships.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

• Primary focus of this position will be on the development and growth of the Corporate Sponsorship & Ticket Sales departments
• Sell and service a full menu of corporate sponsorship opportunities, season tickets, & group sales accounts throughout the Kingsport community
• Take ownership of the overall planning, development, implementation, administration, and budget for the Ticket and Corporate Sales Departments
• Be aggressive in seeking new business and comfortable with cold calling. Having the ability to set qualified appointments on a weekly basis is also a requirement
• Work with the General Manager to establish sales and team goals for each staff member in the organization
• Participate as a high functioning member on a team to ensure revenue is maximized for all events through a full menu of corporate sponsorship inventory as well as season tickets, groups, and hospitality
• Manage client relationships and drive the follow up for future marketing programs e.g., understand clients' business priorities and timelines to proactively set up marketing presentations
• Maintain accurate reporting regarding sales, forecasting, activity, and account maintenance
• Work closely with all General Manager & Boyd Sports management to ensure a high level of communication relative to sales activity, inventory control, contracts, and invoicing
• Provide functional leadership of all Axmen baseball events and activities at Hunter Wright Stadium and in the Kingsport community
• Lead and direct the ballpark operations team to ensure all of Hunter Wright Stadium is operating at maximum capacity. Specifically overseeing ballpark
