Job Summary

Position Overview

As the Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will serve as a key leader in the Twins organization who oversees the development of impactful data solutions that accelerate the Club's business performance. You will manage a small team of data analysts who are responsible for building and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), Tableau dashboards, data analyses, and statistical models to influence critical business decisions for the organization. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders to identify new opportunities for data-driven innovation, and you will be tasked with translating complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth.

  • Lead the development of business intelligence and advanced analytical capabilities to support evidence-based decision making across all facets of the Twins' business operations
  • Design impactful data solutions that address complex business challenges related to the organization's revenue generation, operations, financial performance, and other relevant topics
  • Oversee the technical development and optimization of data dashboards, reports, analyses, and KPIs, delivering powerful data insights to internal business stakeholders
  • Develop and execute an internal data strategy that facilitates a culture of data automation, data accessibility, and self-service analytics throughout the organization
  • Partner with key leaders in Ticket Sales & Service, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and other departments to identify new opportunities for data solutions and business intelligence
  • Manage the development and deployment of predictive models related to dynamic ticket pricing, attendance forecasting, customer retention scoring, and other topics
  • Collaborate with IT stakeholders to build and maintain advanced data warehouse tools, pipelines, and processes to support a scalable reporting and analytics infrastructure
  • Communicate clear and impactful data concepts to senior business leaders with a strong command of data visualization, presentation skills, and storytelling techniques
  • Manage a small team of analysts, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching on their professional growth and development
  • Manage internal team workflow and agile processes to drive continuous improvement in work quality, velocity, and on-time delivery

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in math, engineering, data science, business administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data science, or similar field
  • 3+ years of experience managing and leading a team
  • Demonstrated track record of technical leadership at an organization, with prior experience leading internal data strategy and data-driven innovation

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly proficient in SQL with the ability to write complex queries from scratch
  • Highly proficient with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred) with multiple years of experience building advanced dashboard/reporting solutions from the ground up
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to tackle ambiguous business and data challenges
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, database technologies, and ETL processes

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Python or R, including the usage of relevant packages and libraries
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical concepts, including regression, clustering, and machine learning techniques

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of work day
  • Must be able to be productive utilizing a computer keyboard and telephone
  • Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times
  • Must be comfortable walking to navigate the facility
