Graduate Assistant - Broadcasting/Sports Communication

Job Summary

Private University located in Iowa seeks a Graduate Assistant for its Broadcasting and Sports Communications departments.

Essential Duties Summary

• On-air broadcasting for w/m soccer, volleyball, football (color), w/m basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball and lacrosse with ten UIU sports broadcasted including nine across the eastern half of Iowa on digital television


• Managing Sports Communication Office social media plan through coordination with GA for Athletics Video Production, sport programs and graphic design software


• Assisting with management of the day-to-day operations of the office


• Aggressively publicizing and promoting University and its athletics department through all available means and handling all duties for sports as assigned


• Updating official athletic department website


• Communication with the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Officials


• Distributing photos, statistics, and press releases to the media and others as necessary


• Promoting student-athletes, coaches, and programs for individual, team, and institutional awards, honors, and postseason play


• Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Communication.
