Job Summary

Our clients — Fortune 500 brands, professional teams, global agencies, and media — use MVP as the standard for benchmarking sponsorship performance, understanding audiences, and deciding where and how to run campaigns.
We are looking for an Insights and Analytics Intern to assist in the development and analysis of sport-specific benchmarks. The benchmarks will derive from both social media and broadcast performance and be used in reporting and within our platform. The Insights and Analytics Intern will work alongside the Insights and Data Science teams to curate, categorize, analyze, and record statistics on content performance across sports. This is a hands-on role that requires involvement from big picture strategy through planning, execution, and reporting. It requires both strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and a passion for the ever-evolving sports sponsorship landscape.
This unpaid, fall internship will entail twenty-five (25 )hours of work per week during the fall semester and can be structured to include eight, 10, or 12 weeks between September and December 2021. We are accepting applications for both remote and on-location candidates.
Responsibilities:

Learn and understand the importance of sponsored assets, including camera-visible, social media, and others, for brands sponsoring teams, leagues, athletes, events, venues, and more in sports and entertainment

Gain experience and knowledge on the most valuable metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), current measurement standards, and known best practices for sports sponsorships

Collaborate with other insights analysts to determine performance insights

Learn the variables and methodologies behind valuation and content metrics and how to analyze KPIs and benchmarks in order to derive insights and recommendations

Curate, analyze, and report on content type, engagements, engagement rate, views, viewership, brand position, and asset placement

Provide ideas and feedback to help continuously improve our team’s processes
Skills/Experience:

Must have completed a minimum of three (3) years of study with a focus on strategic marketing, sports management, emerging media, or other related fields. *Graduate candidate applications will be considered for detailed project work

Must demonstrate relevant coursework in statistics, data management, or analytics

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Google Sheets is helpful

Effective time management and organizational skills

Ability to work in an autonomous, fast-paced environment with high expectations and short deadlines

Understanding of digital technologies or social media management

Understanding of Sports Information and/or Sports Marketing and sponsorship preferred
It’s a Plus If You Have:

Experience in sports marketing or information with a team or agency
